Janice Vien founded The Yoga Connection in 2001 and was one of current owner, Kristin McGee's, first Iyengar teachers. Janice mentored her students through assessments and has been a calm, clear and kind presence in many student's lives. If you have ever practiced at The Yoga Connection during her tenure, consider yourself lucky!
This practice is full of hope and we are honored and excited to share that with you. In class you will build strength, stamina and flexibility. We are here to help you adapt and adjust as needed. Yoga asks us to pause and reflect. “What happened to my chest when I pressed down into my feet?” This habit of acting and reflecting can decrease the time between action and reflection in real life and help us live more skillfully. Absolutely anything and everything can be done “yogically."

I am excited for the opportunity to stay part of this community as we continue to practice. Together we will feel how pressing into both feet to lift the chest does in fact give us more connection to our bodies and pulls us into the present. Any extra time spent in the present is time that we are better able to connect with ourselves and each other. Covid reminded all of us that there is something so special about the energy of a group and we will use that warm and supportive energy to both work a little harder than we might have on our own and feel supported in backing off when we should. I love teaching Iyengar Yoga and my students are a great source of inspiration, energy and motivation. I think of you when I practice.
I HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON AT YOGA CONNECTION.
Kristin's capacity for knowing each individual’s therapeutic needs is extremely beneficial and I often feel that her classes are designed with our needs in mind. She knows how to modify each class to make it work for healing and recovery. I know this from my own personal experience as a long-time student and I am grateful.
